How to install FlareGet in Ubuntu?


FlareGet is a fully-featured, multithreaded download manager and accelerator. It comes in two versions i.e. free and paid. It downloads a file by dividing it into multiple segments and merging it back when all segments are downloaded. Also, you can limit the bandwidth so that the internet is available for other activities on your system.

You can download and install it on different operating systems including Windows, Linux macOS, etc.

In this article, I will discuss how to install and use FlareGet in Ubuntu Linux.

How to install FlareGet in Ubuntu

FlareGet on Ubuntu can be installed by using FlareGet debian package. Now to install FlareGet on your Ubuntu system first go to its official download page and click on the download button which is given below the FlareGet 5.0.0(Deb) as you can see in the given image.

Alternatively you can download it by executing the given command in your terminal –

wget https://dl.flareget.com/downloads/files/flareget/debs/amd64/flareget_5.0-1_amd64.deb

Once package is downloaded, move to the download location and use the given command to install it on your Ubuntu system –

sudo dpkg -i Downloads/flareget_5.0-1_amd64.deb

Now if it shows any dependencies error then run the given command in your terminal –

sudo apt install -f

fix dependencies

Press y if it ask for your confirmation to download some packages.

Open FlareGet on Ubuntu

After the installation of FlareGet on your system you can launch it from the Ubuntu’s activities dashboard. Search FareGet and click on its icon when it appears as you can see in the image below.

FlareGet integration with browser

To integrate FlareGet with your browser, first choose your browser. This will bring you to the FlareGet’s extension page of respective browsers.

Click on Add to add it to your browser.
